Instructional Procedures for F2F
1. AuthenticityEngagementEfficiencyExplain to the class that the goal of the session is to be able to teach a peer how to properly secure different vehicle types.
2. AuthenticityEngagementOption: Set the class up that this is going to be a competition. Each pair that completes the worksheet completely and correctly will earn a prize. You can determine what that prize is and what constitutes a winner. Maybe it is lunch with the safety manager. Maybe it is a gas card. Do what is most meaningful to your team.
3. EfficiencyPass out the Teach-a-Peer Worksheet.
4. EfficiencyGive the class a time limit. Set the timer. All groups must be back when the buzzer goes off or they are disqualified. You can give them an hour. This also helps teach time management and following directions.
5. EfficiencyIf you are a Luma client, you can provide eNuggets® they can review on Cargo Securement in the field. You may also have your own materials/videos that they can use as an online reference that you can post in eNuggets®.
6. EfficiencyAuthenticityHave different vehicles outside that the participants must secure. Whatever they must secure must be appropriate for what you are hauling and what they have trouble with. If your drivers typically have trouble with paper rolls, have all drivers practice on paper rolls.
7. As participants come back into the classroom have them turn in their worksheets.
8. EfficiencyGo over each question and invite responses. Clarify any questions that they seem to have misconceptions about.
9. AuthenticityEngagementShare video examples that were shot on the scene. Go over what was done well and what might be improved.
10. EngagementOptional: Score the videos/worksheets after the class and reward the winners.
