Instructional Procedures for F2F
1. AuthenticityEngagementBefore class, print out however number of game boards you want for groups. Additionally, we have prepared several game cards. Fill in the blank cards with content that is most important to your organization
2. EngagementOption: Prepare awards for individuals that win their group or get to the end of the board first.
3. EfficiencyTell participants the goal is for them to learn as much as they can in 10-15 minutes on the The CDL Drug & Alcohol Clearinghouse. If you are a Luma client, you can give participants time to engage with the CDL Drug & Alcohol Clearinghouse eNuggets®. Provide the link to the eNuggets®. Alternatively or in addition, you can have them review the Drug & Alcohol Clearinghouse website
4. Tell participants they should try to learn as much as they can in 15 minutes.
5. AuthenticityEngagementPass out the game boards and question cards. Let participants play for approx 20-30 minutes. Be sure you create more cards that are applicable to your company.
6. Walk around and listen to them. As they play, tell them to write down anything that makes them go Hmmm…,say Ah Ha!, Or Oh No!
7. Have a Q and A at the end to discuss any remaining questions and to review these discussion points.
8. Make sure they know who to contact with questions on this topic.

Instructional Procedures for Online
1.   Post the challenge in an online discussion board.

You can have them look at the CDL Drug & Alcohol Clearinghouse eNugget® for Motor Carriers for an example crossword puzzle. Note: Most LMS have a File Drop area.
2. EngagementEfficiencyCheck the content that is posted. Select a few example crossword puzzles or you can use all of the submissions. Assign participants to complete at least 1 crossword puzzle that is not their own. They can take pictures of the completed puzzles and post them to a private discussion board area.
3. EngagementOptional: Individuals earn digital badges/treasures for their engagement in completing and creating crossword puzzles.
